Emma Lawton

Emma graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Laws in 2018 and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2019. She was admitted to practice in November 2019 and commenced her legal career at Taylor Smart in 2020 in the commercial litigation department.

Emma’s main objective as a junior lawyer is to put the interest of the client first.  She believes in building a genuine working relationship with the client and values transparent communication. Emma aims to achieve high quality, timely and economical outcomes without resorting to protracted litigation.

Emma developed an interest in litigation in her penultimate and final years of Law School. While volunteering as a law clerk in an Adelaide law firm, Emma had exposure to a number of complex litigious matters. Since joining the commercial litigation team at Taylor Smart, Emma is gaining valuable knowledge and experience in an array of practice areas including commercial law, building and construction law, employment law, debt collection and mortgages and securities.

Emma is a member of the Law Society of Western Australia and Women Lawyers of WA.
