Practice Manager (Maternity Leave Cover)

We are currently seeking a Practice Manager for maternity leave cover. A fixed term duration of 6-9months, to work alongside management and to continue the growth of our firm.
The role of Practice Manager is to ensure the effective management of the team and to support the Partners to ensure that we meet our Legal Practice Board obligations.
We are looking for an individual who is confident, reliable, transparent in all aspects of their work, and demonstrates initiative and integrity. A proactive team player and leader who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done will be an ideal candidate for this challenging yet rewarding role.
Reporting to the Partners of the business, this is a varied role which includes the following responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership to a team of legal and admin staff to achieve their objectives;
- Build strong and effective working relationships internally and externally;
- Prepare and contribute to weekly and monthly management reports and other reports as required;
- Management of all aspects of the business’s finance function (including AP/AR, Payroll, Trust Accounting, Company Budgets, Assets, IT, Accounting/Reporting & Admin;
- Organising various client and staff functions;
- Overseeing all aspects of the day to day functioning of the office;
- Attending to all HR and personnel issues throughout the firm including carrying out inductions and training sessions for staff;
- Support Senior Management on a range of adhoc project roles to ensure the business is continuing to evolve;
- Other duties as required.
To be successful in this sensational role, you will have:
- Business Administration qualification and or equivalent experience;
- Proven experience in a Practice Management capacity of a professional services or law focused business. Minimum 3-5years experience working at a law or other professional services firm is highly advantageous;
- Using Open Practice and iManage document management system;
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills;
- Understanding of the importance of Trusts;
- Have an understanding HR related issues and managing lower levels of personnel;
- Have skills/knowledge in accounting and bookkeeping;
- Strong Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) skills, and IT/tech savvy (desirable);
- Above all, have high levels of energy, be driven for success and enjoy the challenge of continuously improving an organisation.
As the role is diverse and challenging, a high level of organisational and planning skills is required as well as a strong work ethic and general knowledge across diverse business areas. Competitive remuneration package will be offered to a suitable candidate.
